Fire Leadership for Protected Areas in Belize

The Toledo Institute for Development and Environment (TIDE) and the Southern Belize Working Group with support from the Protected Areas Conservation Trust (PACT) hosted a firefighter training workshop in the Deep River Forest Reserve of southern Belize. Belize faces many of the same issues as other savanna countries, with savanna landscapes that need fire, but only the right kind. This video highlights the work of the Toledo Institute for Development and Environment (TIDE) and the Southern Belize Working Group with support from the Protected Areas Conservation Trust (PACT) in building leadership for savanna fire management in Belize.
